Just north of Tulum between the two lagoons of Coba and Macanxoc, the ancient Maya city of Coba houses the largest network of stone streets in the Maya world. Within the archaeological site stands Nohoch Mul Pyramid, Coba Stele where monuments features the culture of the city, two ball courts, the Iglesia (church), and a series of Sacbeob, raised pathways that connect the various sections of the city. Unlike the pyramid of Chichen Itza, visitors are still allowed to climb the 130 steps to the top and glimpse the fantastic horizon that surrounds it.
